Looking for wholesome garri for your ball food in far- flung places, look no farther. Nigeria-made and hygienically packaged garri, Ijebulawa, is now available in Shoprite, Spar, Justrite and other major superstores and shopping malls across the country.
Launched in 2012, Ijebulawa Garri was introduced by Balkeem Nigeria Limited as a response to demands for high quality indigenous foods produced and packaged under very hygienic environment and has passed through the scrutiny of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for certification.
According to makers of Ijebulawa Garri, the introduction of the product to the new channel is aimed at bringing the brand closer to the consumers.
“The need to bring Ijebulawa Garri close to consumers, brought about the idea of going into partnership with these shopping malls across the country,’’ a source at the company said.
The product which comes in different size packs such as 100grams with peanut, 226grams and 2kg family size, according to a statement by the company, is made from filtered cassava products prepared in a very hygienic environment without any preservative added to it.
“Due to the need to protect and promote Made-in-Nigeria produce, Balkeem Nigeria Limited launched Ijebulawa Garri in 2012. “It is the first locally waterproofed package in Nigeria and is widely accepted in the Nigerian market as at today,” the statement read.
